The end of the year

As we expected, it’s nearly the end of this year which is a great opportunity for celebrating, reflecting and madly rushing the remaining mixes to be ready for the insane deadline.

Of course all my previous planning and swearing has gone out of the window, I couldn’t post more as I wanted, and I could hardly manage my schedule to remain sane during certain periods.

So, this year I won’t make any promises. Although now I have more than 50 article idea and draft that I consider interesting even to you. These are sitting there besides the many more spark ideas and shorter posts. The only thing I promise is that I’ll really try hard to post more, even if sometimes this means shorter length articles. Sometimes maybe even a photo with some explanation. Originally I planned to keep a post per week pace. I’ll try to make this happen, but no promise.

Anyway, I hope you’ve enjoyed the articles posted here, there will be much more and even more interesting ones coming soon. Till then, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

Take a rest from the work, so after the huge celebration we can cut-design-mix even more sounds!

Merry Christmas

First of all I want to thank you all for the support and suggestions. I really truly appreciate it.

A few words about the future

I’ve got many plans. All the little series will continue to go on in the new year and I also plan to post even more sound design related articles and techniques and hopefully much more interesting free sounds as well. Regardless of Avid’s attitude I still love and use Pro Tools every day, so the tips won’t stop coming.

Of course if you have any idea/suggestion/criticism, feel free to tell me.

Few days ago I wrote this on twitter:

It seems that a big change is ahead of me…

Now the big change is here. I officially resigned from my position at the Hungarian National Theatre at Szeged and accepted a job offer at the Palace of Arts at Budapest as a post production engineer. Exiting times!

I had been working at the theatre for more than 14 years so this is inevitably a huge change for me, but I’m really looking forward to work on the upcoming projects. As now I have enormous amount of things to sort out, probably this is the last post for this year, although I’ll try to do at least a quick tip if possible.

And the most important thing is:

I wish everyone of my reader and and every sound obsessed person in the world a Merry Christmas and a really Happy New Year!

Stay tuned, I’ll do my best to post interesting things here!

Free drones for Christmas

In the last few weeks I had to create many drones for a project and as I enjoyed the process very much, I thought it would be a nice gift to give some of the high quality drones away for free. Drones are good for sound design, for fx editing and creation, for creating different moods, atmosphere, or simply to inspire you to fabricate new sounds. I would like to give 11 ‘psycho’ drones for free. They are freely downloadable, modifiable, usable, editable, etc. I only ask one thing in return (actually two).

1. If you like these drones, spread the word so even more people can use them

2. Never ever sell them for money

All of them designed, created and mastered in 24 bit 96 kHz. Every drone is one minute long. I hope you’ll find it useful.
