The debates about the industry standard DAW has never been so vicious. Pro Tools 10 is probably the latest release that supports RTAS and TDM. The new futureproof format is AAX (Avid Audio eXtension). The transition started, but we, users still don’t know many things about the upgrade paths, prices, etc. Many shallow observers think that Avid is playing a weird game with us, though the fact is: this is an absolutely necessary move. And in my opinion, Avid is in the 24th hour with this transition. There are many sort-of-right information floating around, but now we can face the truth.
